Northern Lights College

Northern Lights College Canada

The Northern Lights College was officially launched in September 1975. During its initial days, it was mainly a vocational school known as the BC Vocational School-Dawson Creek that was mainly serving the communities of the Peace River Region. If we speak of the school curriculum, that was been divided into two parts i.e pre-apprenticeship and pre-employment.

It was then in May 1975, when a Northeastern Community College was created within the same region. The college then held a  ‘Name the College’ contest within its surrounding communities and from all the nominations submitted, ‘Northern Lights College’ was been picked and this is where the college had finally got its name. It must also be mentioned that the college is affiliated to BCC and ACCC
